Welcome to my genealogy pages, in which I detail the lives of ancestors who came from Olde to New England in the 1600s. There are a few  notable people:

I have three ancestors who came over on the Mayflower in 1621. Please click here to read about the Mayflower.

Finally, there's the children of William and Elizabeth Tuttle, from Ringstead, England - Mercy and Benjamin Tuttle. While this family produced two murderers, it also produced men of great achievement. Benjamin Tuttle murdered his sister Sarah and Mercy Tuttle murdered her 17-year-old son, Samuel. Their sister, Elizabeth Tuttle, was an immoral woman who had children with several men while married to her husband. Yet from this same family came people such as 1) Jonathan Edwards, the presbyterian minister who was the third president of Princeton University and preacher of one of the most famous fire-and-brimstone sermons, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God," 2) Aaron Burr, Vice President under Thomas Jefferson and famous for his duel with Alexander Hamilton 3) Eli Whitney, grandson of Jonathan Edwards and the inventor of the cotton gin. My own line descends from William and Elizabeth Tuttle's son Simon Tuttle.
